  • 3 year Postdoctoral position in Differential Geometry:

    This is an advertisement for an open research position in Differential Geometry.
    It is funded by "Tübitak 1001 - 114F320" Grant with subject:

    "Geometry in dimensions 7, 8 and above with relations to Mirror Symmetry."

    There are no teaching duties. The salary is 2800TL monthly.
    The candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree in (metric) Differential Geometry at the appointment time. The job holder is supposed to stay in Ankara and attend to research activities not exceeding 5 hours weekly. Some priority will be given to applicants close to the themes of the grant, but any person in the fields of geometric analysis can apply.

    Ankara is the capital of Turkia. Easy and cheap city to live with reasonable traffic and public transport. The position starts immediately and we may end it at any time according to the wish of the candidate. There is no legal or ethical concern if the candidate continues looking for jobs in the US or Europe. We have an easy release policy if there is a demand to leave earlier than the ending period of the position. Letting us know 1-2 months in advance would be enough. Another comment is that without any teaching load, one may take this opportunity to expand his/her research profile and be ready for the tenure track positions around. We also plan to be generous with permissions for travel.
    We will be reviewing applications immediately, till the end of April. We go for a second round if the position is not filled after that.
